Privacy Policy

What data we collect
None. Saivo does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information or usage data. There is no Saivo server. The app does not make network requests for translations, analytics, advertising, error reporting, or any other purpose.
What stays on your device
Everything you create or choose in Saivo lives only on your iPhone or iPad:
- Your dietary settings — severity, cross-contamination flags, hidden-source warnings.
- Your saved trips — names, language selections, and any optional notes you add.
- Your language unlock state — which paid languages you've purchased.
- Card exports — when you save a card as a PDF or PNG, the file is written to your device's Files app or Photos library at your direction.
This data is stored using Apple's standard local storage (SwiftData and UserDefaults). If you delete the app, this data is removed with it. We have no way to recover it for you.
Apple's role in purchases
Saivo offers one-time in-app purchases ($4.99 full language unlock and $1.99 per-language unlocks). These purchases are handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. Apple receives your payment, processes the transaction, and confirms entitlements with the app on your device.
Apple's privacy practices apply to that transaction. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details. Saivo never sees your Apple ID, your name, your billing information, or your payment method. We do not maintain a customer database.
iCloud backup
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your Saivo data may be included in your encrypted iCloud backup, the same as any other app's local data. This is managed by Apple and iOS — Saivo does not opt into or out of this. See Apple's documentation for how to control iCloud backups.
Children's privacy
Saivo does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. We do not target the app to children, but families travelling with celiac children are welcome to use it.
Third-party services
Saivo uses no third-party SDKs. No Firebase. No Google Analytics. No Crashlytics. No advertising networks. No social login. The app's only external dependency is Apple's StoreKit for processing purchases on Apple's behalf, as described above.
Permissions
Saivo will ask for these device permissions only when you initiate a related action:
- Photo library write access — only when you tap "Save to Photos" on a card, so iOS can store the PNG. Saivo does not read your photo library.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Saivo.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change our practices, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date. Because the app does not communicate with a server, any policy change is reflected here on the website rather than in-app.
